Discover What We Do

We provide a fun and supportive environment where children can learn new skills and make friends. Stageskool classes are for children of all ages and abilities.

From acting and singing to dancing and musical theatre, we have something for everyone.

Dance

Our dance classes develop flexibility, physical strength and co-ordination. We teach a variety of dance genres including; Modern, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Street. Choreography is sympathetic to the individual student’s or group’s talents whilst pushing their boundaries in order to develop new skills and stage presence.

Our teachers work tirelessly to ensure routines are polished and the choreography is perfected in readiness for our annual showcase performance at one of the prestigious local theatres.

Singing

From bedroom star to stage!

Our singing lessons have a fresh, modern approach to vocals. They’re great fun and we aim to get the very best out of every student’s voice, developing technique and repertoire and covering both popular music and musical theatre.

Students learn the fundamentals of how to sing correctly, warming up vocally and using breathing techniques to create sound – performing in groups and for many, as confidence grows, performing solo at events through ought the year.

“The only thing better than singing is, more singing”

Drama and Acting

Our Drama and Acting classes are designed to develop the skills necessary to communicate dramatic text to an audience, projecting an inner confidence and a physical presence with confident speech and vocal delivery. Classes explore scripted and improvised work in various genres to prepare students by developing a strong speaking voice and good memory skills by learning and performing monologues and duologues.

Musical Theatre

Musical theatre overlaps with the other theatrical forms, combining songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. Students are taught to communicate the story and emotional content of a musical – humour, pathos, love, anger – through words, music, movement and the technical aspects of the performance as an integrated whole.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts)

We offer the Musical Theatre and Acting Syllabi. We are immensely proud of our 100% pass rate for our LAMDA examinations. The examinations require students to research the piece they will perform to show a believable character either through acting or acting through song, demonstrating empathy and self-awareness.

Performances and Events

We provide opportunities to perform and support local events through the year

We give students the chance to show what they have learnt to their parents at times through the year. It might not be the finished product, but its part of the process of learning to perform and provides a valuable confidence boost before the big show day.

Community events

Community events and festivals provide the perfect opportunity for students to get dressed up and show everyone what they can do, whether it’s on a carnival float or on a stage.

The shy introvert or the natural performer (sometimes, it’s hard to tell the difference) will revel in the chance to show off their skills. New friendships are formed at Stageskool and participation in community events provides shared experiences that will be remembered.

Celebrating achievement and friendship

Every year, we welcome students from different backgrounds and abilities into our Stageskool family. To teach them, is a privilege and to watch them grow and develop through the special magic of the performing arts gives us an amazing sense of fulfilment and makes us immensley proud of each and every one of them. To allow us to say thank you and to celebrate their hard work and achievement through the year, we hold an end of year party for students and their families. Students and staff come together for the presentation of awards, some amazing solo performances, disco, and a whole lot of fun.

Show Day!

The Biggest day of the Year

Every year, we give our students the opportunity to experience the thrill and buzz of performing on stage at a local prestigious theatre. Students rehearse in the months leading up to the show date, learning their lines, lyrics, and choreography – everything that is involved in putting on a great show!

Then on the day of the show, they spend a full day at the theatre rehearsing on stage with professional lighting and sound.

Finally, it’s show time! The students perform in the evening in front of friends and family – the bright lights, the roar of the audience, for our students, it doesn’t get any better than this!
